The brief for the 2024 edition was to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Showcase the study spaces and the key study resources offered on the four campus libraries.<\/li><li>Involve students in the production.<\/li><li>Use the codes of vlogging and influencers.<\/li><li>Keep the duration under 3 minutes.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to the graduate internship program, I could hire BCU School of Media graduate Ryan Jones to feature and co-produce the video. The footage was shot with a Canon 50D and an iPhone 15 and edited in Final Cut Pro X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The video is embedded on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcu.ac.uk\/library\/services-and-support\/starter-guide\">BCU Library website<\/a> and in e-learning courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:79px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Storyboard of a digital resource<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The final project for my Technical Writing Graduate Certificate at University of Limerick was to develop a digital learning resource.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I used my hobby as a topic: 3D printing. This is a storyboard proposition for an advanced and technical task: calibrating a desktop 3D printer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The storyboard is a blueprint of a training resource. I used multiple strategies to guide the readers&#8217; focus and give a sense of the components&#8217; scale:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Hierarchical numbering with 3 levels (I.A.1)<\/li><li>Callouts with bright yellow logos<\/li><li>Bold text to locate actions and references at a glance<\/li><li>Where a smaller scale is required for a visual, I cropped the schematic in a bubble with a grey background.<\/li><li>Visuals of critical components are enclosed in white shaded bubbles which point at the specific location within the assembly. This removes the need to return to page 3 while following the assembly instructions.<\/li><li>With the different colour backgrounds, the bubbles can be stacked without compromising on clarity.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To provide an understanding of the finished structure I used a full-scale isometric view through the document. To allow the user to locate the position of the components within the finished object, I  placed the instructions and the visuals on the same page whenever possible.
